New COVID-19 Protocol Starting June 1st
New COVID-19 Protocol starting June 1st
We are encouraged about the current trend of COVID-19 in Vermont! As long as this trend continues, we will reopen our clinic to clients accompanying their pets starting June 1st! As we strive to protect everyone’s health, we will be following CDC and VVMA (Vermont Veterinary Medical Association) guidelines as follows:
- Please call when you arrive in our parking lot.
- Once your exam room is ready, we will admit you directly into the room rather than having anyone wait in the lobby.
- Only one client is allowed per appointment to enter our clinic.
- Clients will be required to wear a mask at all times when they are in the clinic (as our staff has been doing during the entire pandemic). If you do not have a mask, we have some cloth ones that we will provide for you for a nominal fee.
- We need to maintain social distancing of 6 feet at all times. This means you will not be allowed to hold your pet during the physical examination, and we will respectfully ask you to stay seated during this time to protect our staff.
- We will encourage you to check out while still in the exam room – either with a check or credit card to further reduce numbers of people in the lobby at one time.
- If you are unable to wear a mask, or have others with you who are unable to be left alone outside, we will continue curbside service as before.
- We will continue our curbside service for all other transactions.
- If your pet is ill, we would encourage you to consider dropping off your pet to allow more time for a complete work-up and treatment rather than waiting for an extended time in an exam room.
We have yet to hear from the Governor about when we are allowed to reopen our boarding and daycare services though we are hoping this will be very soon.
Between now and June 1st, and continuing beyond then, we will resume our in-person end of life care to ease this heart breaking time for families. Please talk to one of our staff members to determine the best plan for your family.
Thank you so much for your understanding and patience during this difficult time and trusting us with the care of your furbabies!
