New COVID-19 protocol effective Nov. 14th
It is with a heavy heart that Country Animal Hospital will resume curbside care for all appointments, starting immediately. As Governor Scott announced today, COVID19 cases in Vermont are skyrocketing, and increased vigilance is necessary to keep everyone safe. So that we may continue to safely serve our clientele, our protocol going forward is this:
1) Once you arrive for your appointment, please call 802-234-5999, or knock on the door to let us know you’ve arrived.
2) The door into the front vestibule will be unlocked, and you will need to drop off your pet in this area.
a. Cats MUST be in carriers – if you do not have one, we will lend one to you, just ask! These can be used for small dogs too.
b. Dogs will need to have on one of our slip leads (located to the side of the main door), and there is a tie ring on the left side of the vestibule on which to hook them. Please take your leash with you.
3) Once your animal is secure in the vestibule, please back out of the vestibule, and as soon as you have done so, our staff member will retrieve the pet from the space.
4) As soon as the Doctor has examined your pet, she will call you to communicate her findings, and to discuss how to proceed.
5) Please consider dropping off your pet for their appointment rather than waiting as this will decrease the amount of time you will need to sit in a cold car (or that you would need to keep the engine running which wastes money and fuel).
6) Doggy Daycare, grooming, and boarding services will remain fully open. Drop off procedures for daycare may change to maintain social distancing.
These are incredibly difficult times for all of us. This virus has taken a toll on our collective psyche as well as our physical health. We truly believe we will emerge from this dark time stronger than before as long as we all pull together and support each other. Please grant us grace during this more laborious and time-consuming process as we strive to continue to offer the best possible care to your furry family members.
Thank you,
Country Animal Hospital Staff
